The Good Sleep Guide for Neurodivergent Kids

Science-Backed Strategies for Children and Teens with ADHD, Autism, and Other Neurodiversities

When pediatric sleep expert Melisa Moore realized her son was neurodivergent, she already had a decade of experience helping families navigate sleep issues — but nothing had prepared her for the reality of managing sleep in her own household. The advice she had learned felt too rigid, unrealistic, or simply ineffective for kids like hers. What she needed was a different kind of guide — one that blended evidence-based science with real-life parenting wisdom and offered support without judgment.

The Good Sleep Guide for Neurodivergent Kids is that guide: warm, practical, and rooted in clinical knowledge. Moore brings together her decades of professional experience and research with her personal journey as a mother to offer a radically compassionate blueprint for improving sleep in neurodivergent children and teens.

Available for Pre-order:

  • "Dr. Moore has a wealth of experience helping families with sleep issues. She is one of the best child sleep clinicians I know. She has also “been there” with her own kids, so she gets it. "

Dr. Jodi Mindell, founder of Pediatric Sleep Council & babysleep.com, author of “Sleeping Through The Night.”

  • "Dr. Moore is an absolutely outstanding behavioral sleep medicine clinician. She applies evidence-based strategies that are tailored to each individual patient and family. Dr. Moore cares deeply about the well-being of patients and families, and truly collaborates with them to ensure their care is personalized, culturally responsive, and effective."

Dr. Ariel Williamson, Faculty, University of Oregon, Ballmer Institute for Children's Behavioral Health

  • "Dr. Moore is truly an exceptional psychologist with decades of clinical experience, and this is evident in the care she provides. Her care is not only evidence-based, but she also listens and tailors her plans in a way that’s customized to fit her client’s needs. I would highly recommend her for anyone looking to really end the sleep struggles their kids are experiencing."

Dr. Olafunke Afolabi-Brown, Pulmonologist and Sleep Medicine Physician

  • "After our baby turned one we tried countless failed approaches as we faced anxiety-inducing bedtime protests and multiple nighttime wakings. When we finally connected with Melisa, she was so supportive, nonjudgmental, and truly a breath of fresh air from an industry that seems to be so divisive in the methods they promote."

Clancy McCarty, RN BSM, Pregnancy Pathways

  • "Our second daughter Marie presented with various sleeping challenges throughout the early stages of her life, which ultimately lead to sleep deprivation for my husband and me. Desperation lead us to set up a sleep consult with Dr. Moore and she provided us with expert guidance and was willing to meet on short notice. She was able to fully understand our current sleep routine, identify the challenges and provide us with valuable recommendations in one session. Her services are worth every second."

    Erica & David, Philadelphia

  • "Melisa was the gentle and helpful guide that we needed as our daughters sleep was changing a lot (four month mark). She reassured and supported us, and gave us strength to follow our intuition with our schedule and system especially when it came to sleep training. She was super available for questions big and small, which feels crucial in the moment to moment. I appreciated her warm and informative guidance and would highly recommend working with her!"

    Claire & Will, Los Angeles

  • "As a new mom, I was constantly targeted on social media by fear mongering "sleep coaches" to buy their guides and follow their programs. I tried some of these programs, but I really didn't experience much help and instead I just felt more anxious. After I was connected with Melisa I was immediately assured that everything happening with our sleep journey was normal. With her calm and encouraging presence backed by such extensive evidence based research I felt fully supported. She provided such simple and clear tools that I was able to implement and quickly help me and my baby sleep better."

    Willie, RN, MSN, Pregnancy Pathways

  • "After doing our research on sleep training but still not knowing how to make a concrete plan, we were so appreciative to be able to talk through all of our questions and concerns with Melisa. She was so helpful, understanding and supportive – an academic expert but also a mom. She gave us the moral support we needed in the sleepless early months of being new parents."
