FAQs

  • Dr. Moore does not take insurance, but will provide you with an invoice/superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Most patients are able to get some out-of-network reimbursement for services with a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. In general, you can ask your insurance company how many units of each of the following procedure codes (called “CPT codes”) are allowable per year and what the maximum allowable charge the insurance company will pay is for each of the following CPT codes: 90791, 90846, 90847, 90837, 90832, 90834.

If you are seeking virtual services (the same CPT codes but with “GT modifier”), please specify this to your insurance company. Dr. Moore’s services can also typically be paid for via HSA or FSA.

  • You will get tailored recommendations for the first steps at the end of the evaluation session. Typically, you will not get an entire treatment plan, as each step depends on how you and your child respond to the previous steps. Dr. Moore develops recommendations specific to your family at each time point.

  • Treatment length depends on the complexity of the problem and factors such as medical and/ or psychiatric issues. After the initial comprehensive evaluation, most patients return for 2-6 follow up sessions.

  • Dr. Moore works with babies through young adults. In addition, she occasionally offers group therapy for adults of all ages with insomnia. Email for upcoming sessions.

  • None! Although there are products that Dr. Moore likes for various reasons, nothing is necessary to start. At times a sound machine, nightlight, or sleep sack are recommended, but this will be discussed in your session.

  • For the initial evaluation, the child/ teenager must be present. Please discuss with Dr. Moore who needs to be present in subsequent sessions.

  • Dr. Moore is available for daytime and early evening appointments only. If there is a compelling reason your family needs care at home, please discuss with Dr. Moore. At night she is likely continuing to learn the realities of sleep from her own two children.

  • During your family’s initial evaluation, Dr. Moore will screen for conditions that require further assessment via an overnight sleep study or daytime nap study, lab tests, a developmental or psychiatric evaluation, or consultation with a sleep physician. She has relationships with many providers that will help to facilitate referrals.
